Challenges include intermittency—the sun doesn't shine at night or during storms—which requires either Battery storage, grid integration, or complementary sources. Manufacturing panels involves energy costs and mining impacts, though lifecycle analyses show they repay their energy debt within 1-4 years.
As costs have dropped 90% since 2010, solar power has become competitive with Fossil fuels in many regions, reshaping Power generation worldwide and enabling Energy independence in remote communities.
