Gravity

Gravity is the fundamental force that attracts all objects with mass toward one another, shaping everything from falling fireflies to orbiting moons. Isaac Newton described it mathematically in the 17th century, but Albert Einstein revealed its deeper nature: gravity isn't a force pulling objects, but rather a warping of spacetime caused by mass and energy.

Every object exerts gravitational pull, though the effect is strongest near massive bodies like Earth and the Sun. Gravity governs tidal cycles, holds black holes together, and keeps stars burning in the cosmos. On Earth, it gives weight to everything, enables Sea Turtles to navigate oceans, and keeps our atmosphere bound to the planet.

The strength of gravity depends on two things: how much mass an object has, and how far away you are from it. Move twice as far from a massive object, and gravity's pull becomes one-fourth as strong. This inverse-square relationship appears throughout nature.

While Newton and Einstein solved much, gravity remains partly mysterious. Scientists still work to reconcile it with Quantum Mechanics, the laws governing atoms and particles—a puzzle that may unlock deeper truths about reality itself.
