Space-Time

Space-time is the four-dimensional fabric woven from the three dimensions of Space and the one dimension of Time, treated as a unified continuum rather than separate entities. This revolutionary concept emerged from Einstein's General Relativity, which describes how massive objects curve space-time, and how this curvature manifests as gravity.

Before Einstein, physicists like Newton treated space and time as independent, absolute backdrops for events. But General Relativity revealed they're intimately entangled: time runs differently near massive objects, space bends around them, and nothing travels faster than light through this fabric. The Big Bang itself was the beginning of space-time itself—not an explosion in space, but the birth of space and time together.

Space-time's geometry is dynamic. Massive stars compress space-time so severely they create white dwarfs and black holes where space-time warps to extremes. Even light cannot escape the gravitational grip of a black hole, though it can radiate away via Hawking Radiation.

This concept revolutionized how we understand the Universe, from habitable worlds around distant stars to the very origin of Earth itself. Space-time isn't merely a stage for existence—it's a participant, bending, stretching, and telling matter how to move.
