Extinction
Extinction is the permanent disappearance of a species, lineage, or phenomenon when the last of its kind ceases to exist. The term carries profound weight across biology, cosmology, and human culture—marking both tragedy and transformation in the grand sweep of time.
In biology, extinction occurs when environmental change, competition, migration pressure, or catastrophic events eliminate all individuals of a species.
