Ocean currents

Ocean currents are massive, continuous flows of seawater driven by tidal forces, atmospheric winds, and differences in water temperature and salinity. These rivers within the sea are fundamental to Marine ecology, redistributing heat across the planet, transporting nutrients, and shaping regional climate.

The most famous currents—like the Gulf Stream and the Humboldt Current—act as conveyor belts of enormous power, influencing weather patterns thousands of miles away.
