Craters
Craters are bowl-shaped depressions formed on celestial bodies and planetary surfaces through explosive impact or volcanic activity. These dramatic geological features reveal the violent history of worlds and moons, offering windows into cosmic processes spanning billions of years.
Impact craters form when meteorites or asteroids collide with a surface at extreme velocity, excavating material and creating circular or elliptical bowls.
