Star

A star is a massive, luminous sphere of plasma held together by its own gravity, powered by Nuclear fusion in its core. Stars are the fundamental building blocks of galaxies and the primary sources of energy for planetary systems like ours.

Stars form from collapsing clouds of gas and Dust, a process governed by Gravity and Heat Transfer. Their lifecycles span billions of years, progressing through distinct phases: formation, stable hydrogen-burning, and eventually dramatic endings as white dwarfs, neutron stars, or black holes.

The nearest star, our Sun, has shaped Earth's history and made life possible. Its fusion reactions create the classical elements that make up planets and living things—a truth captured in the phrase "we are made of stardust."
